Lynn Brandli, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher
My Yoga studies began in 1996 and I became a teacher in 1998, when I realized the positive impact practicing yoga had made on my life. I first became certified through Peachtree Yoga Center’s teaching program and shortly after discovered Iyengar Yoga and have been training and teaching in this method since 2000.
Iyengar Yoga is based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar and his family who live in Pune, India. This style of yoga is known for creating and sustaining alignment, flexibility, stability and a peaceful mind. This style is often described as “meditation in action” and translates very well into observing ourselves in everyday life. Iyengar Yoga has very high standards for certified teachers, with requirements to continue studies and undergo assessments on teaching skills and knowledge of Yoga.
In addition to regular classes, I have been teaching Pregnancy Yoga since 2000 and Mom & Baby Yoga since 2004. In the past couple of years, my teaching has grown to include one-to-one instruction where an individualized practice is developed based on the student’s personal needs. Private instruction is recommended for students who wish to work on specific issues (chronic pain, back, neck, knees, shoulders) and/or are seeking a therapeutic approach and would like more focused attention from a teacher.
I am grateful to share in the ancient knowledge of Yoga as a means to a healthy connection between the body, mind, and breath. For more information, visit Yoga Poses Daily.
